Exclusive Residential Development Ivanhoe Melbourne Victoria
This recently completed project will help you understand the benefits of our 74mm polycarbonate system, where our product was specified. Everbright E610 clear was installed recently at an exclusive residential development The Latham View Apartments in Ivanhoe, Melbourne, on an translucent entrance canopy, stairwell and long central atrium area. The central atrium area consisted of panels that were supplied in 4mtr lengths (free span) and in 600mm configurations. Our panels simply clip together, making the installation process rapid, as our product only requires to be joined every 600mm on site. Everbright E610 free spanned 4mtr, incorporating Locking System 2.2. Locking System LS2.2 weight and dead load calculations = 10 kg/sqm with a dead load of 0.101kN/sqm. The total area was around 145sqm, the atrium was 4mtr x 28mtr, canopy’s were 2.5mtr x 2mtr and stairwell was 4mtr x 5mtr. The installation time on this project was two days and two men were available on site.
The design brief for this development was for a modern looking translucent system that could open up all these area and utilize all the natural light available. Our product created a unique design feature and provided a pleasant attractive environment for all the residence at these new apartments.
The specification also required a system that has superior thermal and acoustic performance, this is due to our unique panel design. Clear was the colour selected with 73% light transmissions. Another key factor was for a product which has a long life span. Makrolon 1243 is the material used in our polycarbonate roofing system, which is part of the worldwide Bayer Group.
Everbright E610 comes with a manufactures worldwide 10 year warranty and the panels have a life expectancy in excess of 35 years.
The Everbright E610 system gives a unique visual appearance and minimizes structural requirements making use of all the natural light available. Since less structure is required with our system less shadows are created, and as such the natural light translucency is at its full potential, making our system an excellent selection for this development.
Our polycarbonate system give a seamless and continuous line, with no steel frame work spoiling the visual effect. E610 Integral locking bars hide the aspect of where a panel starts and where it finishes, so it becomes a continuous system giving a uniformed and conformed design feature. Creating an architectural flare, that isn't possible with any other polycarbonate system available on the market. Our system only needs to be secured with washer and screw fixings provided to both the lower and higher end of the panels, all the joints are self sealing once the integral locking bar is fitted.
Everbright E610 polycarbonate panels incorporate as standard detailing an excellent safety factor. All loading criteria are based on 0.75kN/sqm and a 50% safety factor as part of a standard specification detailing.
The construction process is very simple and is less time consuming to install on site. We can advise that there was a significant cost saving on the structure requirements with our system on this project.
