Translucent Curved Blue Skylight Box Hill Melbourne Victoria
This recently completed project will help you understand the benefits of our 74mm polycarbonate system and shows the versatility of our system for top end residential projects. Everbright E610 Blue panels was used as a translucent curved skylight on a large multiple residential development in Box Hill Melbourne, Victoria. This new development consisted of the following;
1 x Large blue translucent central curved barrel vault skylight @ 8mtr curved panel length, set over one intermediate support x 18mtr, incorporating locking system LS1. See design loads, which shows you in more detail the different locking systems available. Our panels simply clip together making the installation process very rapid, as our product only requires to be joined every 600mm on site.
Installation time for this project was two days and two tradesmen were available on site.
The total area was around 144sqm.
The design brief for this development was for a new modern looking translucent system that would provide as much natural light as possible and would minimize structural requirements, thus providing a pleasant and comfortable environment for all the residences.
The simple supporting structure made the construction process very simple and gave our client the desired effect. Additionally the client was looking for a translucent roof that had superior free span and didnít require safety mesh. Our product was selected due E610's superior panel strength making it one if the strongest translucent product in the world. No safety mesh in required with our polycarbonate system and has passed AS 1562.3 sand bag test results on all spans.
Several other key factors also included a product that had a long life span and superior thermal performance.
The clients requirements made our polycarbonate system an obvious choice for this development and was a surprisingly affordable alternative, due to the minimal structure required.
Our polycarbonate system give a seamless and continuous line, with no steel frame work spoiling the visual effect. E610 Integral locking bars hide the aspect of where a panel starts and where it finishes, so it becomes a continuous system giving a uniformed and conformed design feature. Creating an architectural flare, that isn't possible with any other polycarbonate system available on the market. Our system only needs to be secured with washer and screw fixings provided to both the lower and higher end of the panels, all the joints are self sealing once the integral locking bar is fitted. Other systems would necessitate the need for a framed grid work support system across the entire roof.
Everbright E610 polycarbonate panels incorporate as standard detailing an excellent safety factor. All loading criteria are based on 0.75kN/sqm and a 50% safety factor as part of a standard specification detailing.
The construction process with E610 is very simple and is less time consuming to install on site. We can advise that there was a significant cost saving on the structure requirements with our system on this project.
